மட்டக்களப்பு மாவட்டதாதில் கடுமையான மழை பெய்துகொண்டீருப்பதனால் அதிகமான இடங்கள் வெள்ளத்தால் சூழப்பட்டுள்ளது்.இதனால் பல இடங்கள் போக்குவரத்து துண்டிக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில் காணப்படுகிறது. இதில் ஒருபகுதியாக வாகரை பிரதேசத்தில் உள்ள கட்டுமுறிவு குளம் பெருக்கெடுத்துள்ளதனால் அடுத்த கிராமமான ஆண்டான்குளம் தனிமைப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ள நிலையில் உணவுத்தேவைக்கு தட்டுப்பாடு நிலவுவதாக அந்தப்பகுதி மக்கள் மற்றும் அரச அதிகாரிகள் ஆகியோர் உறுதிப்படுத்தியுள்ளனர்.

Campaign Story

PLEDGE to RESTORE is spearheading a fundraising campaign for the people devastated by the record-breaking rain and flood caused by recent Cyclone in North and East of Sri Lanka.

Batticaloa is currently faced with heavy rain and devastating floods followed by the tropical Cyclone Burevi, causing extensive damages to the houses, roadblocks and has caused significant losses to farming and crops in the district, disrupting the daily lives of our people in this area.

To support the local communities and to provide emergency relief, PLEDGE to RESTORE, Australia has decided to launch an ‘EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN’ to raise funds for the flood-stricken citizens.
